Leonista is the first 100% Karoo agave spirit in South Africa, made in the traditional Mexican way.

Leonista's production process follows an age-old Mexican recipe used to craft agave spirits like Mezcal. The agave plant is cooked over smoke and fire, giving Leonista its signature smoky flavor, reminiscent of Mezcal.

Our locally crafted agave spirit is made from South African Karoo agave that has thrived in the region for centuries.

Since it is not produced in Mexico, it cannot be called Mezcal or Tequila.

With conservation at our core, Leonista is a proud member of 1% for the Planet. 1% of every bottle sold is going to assisting Samara Karoo Reserve to Rewild the Karoo.

We are also 100% USDA certified organic and is made for a conscious consumer who demands something of a higher quality.
